Uncanny Valley by Anna Weiner

Star Rating: ★★★★★

Fantastic title. This is an autobiography about a woman who starts in publishing and ends up in Silicon Valley. You get an outsider's inside look at the tech industry. She frequently challenges the status quo but also relies on the same tech conveniences in her everyday life, thereby inadvertently supporting the very places she criticizes. You'll learn many intriguing stories about prominent tech hubs as well as how tech workers internally discuss 'God mode,' which is incredibly fascinating. The audiobook is excellent.
