How to nurture a love of reading within a child

I don't remember ever being read to. That's not to say it didn't happen, but I have no memory of reading with family or by myself. It wasn't until after college that I started reading. I want to credit Emily Giffin for intriguing me with her novels, novels that I still anticipate releases of to this day.

So, as a parent, I wanted to try and create readers. But what I learned was that by simply creating life, I created lifelong learners. It wasn't my job to create readers; it was my job to encourage the existing human nature to learn.

With that mindset, I was off and running. I set out to create a system to keep the kids interested in reading.
