Educated—while this story is worth telling, I had a hard time understanding why everyone was so obsessed with it. Tara Westover's story is one of many. I'm glad it's out there, and I hope it offers hope to people in similar situations by illustrating that education is freedom. However, this isn't new information. Jefferson said, 'Education is a passport to the future,' and Mandela stated that it is 'A powerful weapon you can use to change the world.' So, while this book serves as an important reminder of a well-known fact, I found the overall storytelling to be just okay.
